A neuro-urbanism thesis investigating cognitive health and urban form in communities affected by the Eaton Fire — proposing trauma-informed spatial strategies for neighborhood-scale recovery in Altadena, CA.
My thesis investigates the relationship between urban form and cognitive health in communities affected by the Eaton Fire, using Altadena as the testing ground.
Drawing on neuro-urbanism research, the work proposes spatial and programmatic strategies for trauma-informed neighborhood recovery — designing environments that actively support community healing and a return from displacement to belonging.
